Mary, Queen of Scots -- Charles J. Andres
painted for Margery Hale Sutton of West Roxbury, Massachusetts
Margery H. Sutton, joined a local tourist club. Besides traveling, they
would gather to discuss historical events. Members would be assigned a subject,
and be expected to do much research and eventually do a presentation. Marmie
felt inadqeuate, with little training. Mr. Andres painted Mary for his
mother-in-law to bolster her confidence by complementing her talk. The
painting remained in her house in West Roxbury until she died in 1986 at
the age of 95.
